Penn Valley, California's first "Smokin' in the Oaks" Championship BBQ Cookoff, featured 27 teams of BBQ challengers, plus the exciting California Range Riders Mounted Shooters.
We were unable to attend the full three days due to our being hired to photograph a wedding, but we made sure to stop by Sunday and sample the low and slow tasty BBQ under the shade of the big oaks and watch the cowboy mounted shooting.
